Terms and refunds
Last updated 5 November 2026
These terms apply when you order ECU software from CM Performance, United Kingdom, through cmperf.uk, Bootmod3 or by direct arrangement. By paying for a file you accept them. Questions go to contact@cmperf.uk.
What you get
A custom engine software file built for your exact car, ECU and software version, with the features agreed before payment. The standard 2-step is a secondary rev limiter with the activation and launch RPM you choose. We confirm what your car supports, what it needs and the price before you pay.
What you need
- An existing Bootmod3 or MHD licence for your car, or a bench tool such as KESS3, AutoTuner, FLEX or PCMFlash with a plain read of your ECU.
- If you have neither, we can remote flash your car for 100 USD, charged separately and arranged with you before payment.
- Accurate details: VIN, car model and year, engine, current software and the files our order form asks for. Tell us promptly if any details change so we can check the file before you flash it.
Price and payment
The standard 2-step is 200 USD. Prices are in US dollars. Pay by card through Stripe, subject to availability in your country. Your bank may apply currency conversion fees. Any applicable tax is shown at checkout. Stage builds and bespoke work are quoted per car before payment. Work starts after payment is received. A checkout link that is not paid within 24 hours expires, and the request and its uploaded files are deleted.
Delivery
Your file is delivered within 5 hours of payment, through Bootmod3, MHD or as a file for your ECU tool, as agreed. We also send flashing instructions for your setup. If something about your car or files needs checking first, we contact you on WhatsApp or email before the payment link is sent, so the 5 hours start from a confirmed request.
Refunds
If we cannot build a working file for your car, we refund your payment in full. Contact us about other refund or cancellation requests. Custom work does not remove your statutory rights.
In practice this means:
- If, after payment, we find that your ECU software is not supported, that your files are unusable, or that the agreed feature cannot be built for your car, you get a full refund to the card you paid with.
- If the delivered file does not behave as agreed, contact us with your flashing details and a datalog if you have one. We investigate and provide the remedy you are entitled to, which may include a correction, price reduction or refund.
- To cancel, email contact@cmperf.uk as soon as possible. Any applicable cancellation rights continue to apply; payment alone does not waive them.
- Refunds for the remote flash charge follow the same rule: full refund if we cannot complete the flash for reasons on our side.
Your responsibilities
- Keep a copy of your original file. Follow the instructions for your agreed platform when switching maps or returning to stock; contact us if you are unsure.
- Flash only the file we delivered for your VIN, with the platform or tool agreed, following the instructions supplied.
- Modified engine software can affect emissions compliance, warranty and insurance. Checking what is permitted where you drive is your responsibility.
- Use the activation and operating conditions supplied with your build. A stationary Park/Neutral 2-step is not an in-gear launch-control setup. Use it briefly and in moderation, with the car in good mechanical condition; prolonged use can damage exhaust and turbo components.
Support
If you get stuck flashing or the file does not behave as agreed, contact us on the channel you ordered through. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00 UK time. We reply to most messages within one business day.
Liability
We take care to verify every file before delivery. Any limitation of liability applies only to the extent permitted by law. We do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the law where you live, including as a consumer.
Changes
These terms may change. The version in force for your order is the one published when you paid.
